2012: 52 Projects, Week 1

In 2011 I was able to get a number of projects done for gifts, and those were probably some of the highlights of my year.  I get so much joy from people enjoying a homemade gift that I made for them.  After a year off from taking 365 photos in 1 year, I felt it was time to start a new project.  As much as I’d love to do another photo project, I am still short on ideas, at least until we have another family member.  My thought was perhaps I could do something once a week rather than every day, and it would be easier.  Well, I’m not sure if doing a project a week will be all that easy, but it’s what I came up with.  Some projects will definitely take more than a week, but I think I can balance it with projects that will get done in a couple hours.  I’m still trying to come up with ideas that I can pick from, but here’s what I have so far.  Week 1′s project, make a list!  In no particular order:

  1. Make a list of projects
  2. Build a snowman
  3. Finish the Great Walls of Seuss
  4. Wildlife photography
  5. Wood carving
  6. Rag quilt for me
  7. Hair growth photo flip book
  8. Oven Mitts
  9. Super Secret Christmas present
  10. Baby photo announcement
  11. Plant a garden
  12. Gingerbread house
  13. Burp cloths/bibs
  14. Cover for Baby Bjorn
  15. Laundry Detergent
  16. Another Super Secret present
  17. Luggage tags
  18. Purse and/or Diaper Bag
  19. Pillows for the couch
  20. Fill empty picture frame
  21. Finish a scrapbook
  22. Knit baby hat
  23. Advent calendar quilt
  24. Chair cover
  25. Ice pack cover
  26. Filing cabinet cover
  27. Shower curtain
  28. Casserole carrier
  29. Camera strap slipcover
  30. Ironing board cover
  31. Grocery bag dispenser
  32. Bookkeeper
  33. Caramels
  34. Saddle
  35. Hand woven basket
  36. Butter
  37. Table runner
  38. Kitty multiplicity photo
  39. Collect stuff from town/state of birth for memory/keepsake box
  40. Theme fondant cake
  41. Wreath
  42. Carve a pumpkin
  43. Handmade jewelry
  44. Christmas cards
  45. Have a picnic
  46. DIY compost bin
  47. Write a bucket list
  48. Spring cleaning
  49. Memory/keepsake box

  51. “Bad Day” box
  52. Freezer Meals
  53. Lose 50 pounds

And that’s what I’ve come up with so far.  May add to it later, and I’m up for suggestions.
